PETYR BAELISH (LITTLE FINGER).
One person I admire a lot in the Game of thrones is Lord Baelish, yes I know he is cunny and he's a dangerous person, but I love to look beyond the general reputation of a person and try to figure out why they actually act the way they had always acted.
Looking at Baelish, he started from nothing and ended up being one of the important persons in the seven kingdoms and even a member of the kings' small council. What I admire about Baelish was his focus and discretion. If a man managed to kill a king, set a friend up and gain the trust of a Stark only for him to sell her, turn sisters against each other he really knows what he was doing. Baelish is the definition of being deadly ambitious and he would have succeeded in ruling the vale for long, if my star girl Ayra Stark didn't come home.
The only thing I admired about Baelish apart from his entrepreneural expertise, was how carefully he had planned his rise.
For us to achieve certain things and achieve a certain goal, you have to had plan your life earlier. There certain things you can't achieve by coincidence, they won't just come. Have you created a plan for yourself, your life after school, your life after service, during service, while in school, did you plan how you make everything sync and make stepping up easier for you. Truth is things might not go as planned but at least you'll still have this strange peace with yourself that you tried.
I'm not preaching that Petyr Baelish is a good man but he was a wise man, he understands that you don't sit down and allow things to just happen, sometimes you have to stand up and do something. Well, don't be like Baelish in the aspect of killing or setting up, but take the part of him that plans ahead.
The last conversation Little finger had with the Spider has always been one of the best ever that has stuck with me. “Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder,” Littlefinger told the Spider. “Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some, are given a chance to climb. They refuse, they cling to the realm or the gods or love. Illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is.”
