LIFE IS A GAME OF MONOPOLY 2.0

Dear patient reader, I apologize for not sending newsletters these past few weeks. Resumption has been hitting hard on me. This final year is not for the weak. E gbadura fun finalist!!!

Last time I wrote about monopoly, I focused on the bank and the bankers, the properties, and jail. In this publication, my focus will be on community chest and chance, the players, bankruptcy and luck.

Community chest and chance are series of cards you pick when your dice rolls your token to their slots. You get to pick cards at random and do whatsoever you have been instructed to do. This is when life throws you in a corner and you have to play by it rules. It is a signal that you don’t have to struggle with life all the time, sometimes you just have to let go and let things happen. You don’t have to fight back all the time. Sometimes just let things happen and let nature have its way. Rest!!!

The players are the core of the game. A game wouldn’t be a game if it has zero players. The maximum number of people that can play monopoly at a time is eight and the age range is 10. These eight players are with different personalities and mentality, but you have to deal with them. It teaches how to cohabit and tolerate different kind of people. My father once told me that the hardest resource to manage is human resources. You cannot play monopoly by yourself; you will have to play with at least one person. There is different type of people when it comes to players in monopoly. We have the greedy ones, the selfish ones, the emotional ones and the ones that does not really care about the money (they just want to have fun), we have the broke ones and the Dangote rich categories. Dealing with all these people requires patience and wisdom. Same thing you will need to apply to deal with people in the real world, don’t forget to add a sprinkle of madness to it, especially if you live in Lagos or study in FUNAAB.

Bankruptcy!!! Bankruptcy is the end of the game for anyone that goes bankrupt,

and it really means death. After all the hustle and bustle, to what gain. You will leave the game with nothing.

Finally, luck is a very vital in the game. Some are born with silverware, while some with woodware and some with nothing. Nobody choose to be the way he/she is, but it has all been set out from the beginning. Some people will even try to go from woodware, or nothing ware to silverware and get it right while some will not even get it right. Same as we see some silverware degrade and go back to nothing. Trust me, everybody is trying in his/her own way, just pray and hope luck and fate has it right for you.
